Stepping Stones Community Living
Contact us today to find out if Stepping Stones Community Living is right for you.
Stepping Stones Community Living is our latest social enterprise programme and our biggest one yet. Our aim is to foster a sense of community and friendship in an inclusive, stimulating and safe environment that has been set up to provide respite to families and young adults while improving life skills and life choices.
We support those within the supported living service to carry out everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, budgeting, shopping and assisting with their personal care needs. Additionally, we can support customers to attend appointments, education, training, work and volunteering opportunities as well as understanding their rights and claiming benefits they are entitled to.
What Are Your Responsibilities to Stepping Stones Community Living?
Most houses have rules, and ours is no different. The house rules are there so that you know what is expected of you and to make life easier for all the people living in the accommodation.
The House Rules Include:
- No use of violent or disruptive behaviour.
- No causing a nuisance to others.
- Avoid making noise that can be heard outside your property at night or early in the morning.
- Do not bring, use or supply any drugs in or near our property.
- You are not permitted to have any guests stay over.
- You are responsible for keeping your own room clean.
- You will also be responsible for doing your share of the cleaning in communal areas.
- You are responsible for the behaviour of your visitors.
Security In Your Home
Most people who knock on your door are genuine, but some may not be. Sometimes burglars can pose as officials or workmen so they can get into your home. If someone official knocks on your door, always speak to them on the intercom and ask them to hold up their identification so you can see it on the intercom camera. If you’re still unsure, find a member of staff who will be on hand to help.
Move-On Accommodation
If you feel SSCL is no longer a suitable housing option for you, when you are ready to move on, SSCL staff will work with you to help find alternative suitable accommodation. Some move-on options include renting in the private sector, housing through your local council or with another housing association.
